Kessler Collection Announces $150M Village Development
If you enjoy the lap of luxury, (who doesn’t?), then you need to know about the Kessler Collection, and specifically their new project in Cashiers, North Carolina.
The Kessler Collection is a carefully curated and artistically inspired boutique hotels that feature top-shelf design, accommodations, ambiance and service. The hotel’s unique offerings include art galleries, live music performances, cooking schools and spas. Each hotel is a perfect example of reimagined Bohemian luxury, created with style elegance. Travelers can already enjoy the Kessler experience in Asheville and Charlotte, North Carolina; Beaver Creek, Colorado; Orlando and St. Augustine, Florida; Savannah, Georgia; Minneapolis, Minnesota; Charleston, South Carolina, and Mountain Brook, Alabama.
Now Kessler has announced plans for a $150 million+ mixed-use development in Cashiers, a small, unincorporated village nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains of southwestern North Carolina. It will be designed by architect and town planner Christian B. Sottile, winner of several national accolades, including the Global Award for Excellence from the Urban Land Institute on a decade-long redevelopment, Plant Riverside District in Savannah.
Cashiers is already one of the Southeast’s premier resort destinations, widely known for its historic village, mountain elegance, high-end dining and shopping, the finest club lifestyles and breathtaking natural beauty and outdoor activities.
“Cashiers East Village,” set to break ground in 2023, will focus on the conservation and preservation of the town’s character, leaving about one-third of the property open for greenspace and parkland. The 24.5-acre development will incorporate a boutique lodge, mountain cottages, glamping cabins, with two full-service restaurants, a rooftop bar, a café, shopping, art spaces, an event pavilion and a residential village anchored by a retail and community center – Cashiers Hall.
Cashiers Hall will feature commercial and retail space for local businesses. It will also include narrations by local farmers and community members, telling the rich stories of the region, along with photography displays, small-scale restaurant space and an event lawn for outdoor exhibitions, art shows and special events.
With an estimated completion date of the first phase in 2025, this will be Kessler’s sixth property in the Carolinas, along with the Grand Bohemian Lodge Greenville (September 2022) and an historic restoration of the Elks Building in New Bern, slated to open mid-2024.
Thus far, I’m more than impressed by what the Kessler Collection has done to make traveling a more
enjoyable and luxurious experience. I can’t wait to see what incredible things are on the horizon for them – and for us!
